Getting to Koli
By car
about 6 hours drive from Helsinki, 1½ hours from Kuopio, an hour from Joensuu. In winter ice-road (7 kms) across Lake Pielinen to Vuonislahti.

By train
expresses from Helsinki to Joensuu take about 4 ½ hours. Onwards from Joensuu the best alternative is the shuttle taxi (see below for a rough timetable).
By air
the nearest airports are at Kuopio and Joensuu, which are served by daily flights from Helsinki. There is a Joensuu-Koli shuttle taxi daily, see below for details.
By water
Car ferry MF Pielinen operates 13.6. – 21.8. between Koli harbour and Lieksa harbour. (Linkki aikatauluun)
