Ukko-Koli, the highest hill in the Koli range, rises 354 metres above sea level and 253 metres above the surface of Lake Pielinen. There are breathtaking views from the top of Ukko-Koli over Lake Pielinen, after climbing a few steps from the Visitor Centre Ukko. Koli National Park includes many other hills with beautiful views, like Akka-Koli, Paha-Koli, Vesivaara, Mäkrävaara, Paimenenvaara, Pieni-Koli, and many others. Visitor Centre Ukko/Koli National Park

Visitor Centre Ukko has information on Koli’s heritage landscape and Eastern Finland’s wooded hills and culture.

Tourist information, reference library, handicrafts shop, and Internet point are free of charge.

Exhibitions: adults € 5, children (6-16 years) € 2, groups (minimum of 10 people) € 4, family ticket € 12. A reserved tour of the exhibition (in other languages than Finnish): entrance fee plus € 2,50/person (minimum of € 30 per tour).

14.2. – 26.6. daily 10 am – 5 pm (exceptions: 25.6. 12.00 – 7 pm and 26.6. 10 am – 7 pm)

27.6. – 7.8. daily 9 am – 7 pm

Cabin lift

When arriving at Koli by car, you are advised to leave your car at the car-park (P1, P2, P3) and take a cabin lift (free of charge) up to Sokos Hotel Koli, Retkitupa and Visitor Centre Ukko. This lift operates daily 8 am-10 pm all the year round. There is a small parking area by the hotel for restricted use for arrivals and departures (time limit 15 minutes).

Chairlift/Scenic lift/Ski lift

The chairlift on the eastern side of Koli hills functions in the winter as a ski lift and in summer as a scenic lift. The difference in altitude is 212 meters and the length of the lift ride 770 meters, taking about eight minutes.
