Koli Open, a slalom competition with wooden poles on the Ukko-Koli slopes, 1 pm. Wooden-pole slalom is a playful competition for the whole family. Suomi Slalom coefficients are put to use in the competition to even out differences brought by age and experience. You can take part with retro gear or normal modern equipment. Participation is free of charge, and the best skiers in each division and the coolest retro outfits get prizes!

Snowshoeing excursion in the National landscape on Ukko-Koli March 31 and April 1 at 10–11.30 am, to the enchanting wintry forest of the Koli national landscape and the
oldest rock in Europe. On this excursion the guide will introduce the
hikers to the technique of snowshoeing and tell stories about Koli on
the way. The terrain on the fells is variable, but we will go slow,
admiring the views. We meet at the Nature Centre Ukko.

At the Koli Nature Centre Ukko you can easily spend
several hours taking in the various exhibitions and perhaps enjoying the
offerings of the Café Vakka. The revised standing exhibition
“Katse kansallismaisemaan” (‘A look at the National Landscape’)
showcases the geology, nature, and history of the region. Through the
visual presentations of the exhibition you can make an experiential and
safe acquaintance with burn-clearing, the large carnivores, and natural
phenomena characteristic of the Koli area.

The 250-seat café-restaurant at Kolinportti offers a daily buffet with two main courses and one beefsteak option plus an abundant salad bar and non-alcoholic drinks. On the à la carte list you’ll find plenty of choices for appetites big and small. We are fully licensed.
