By train

Expresses from Helsinki to Joensuu take about 4 hours. Onwards from Joensuu the best alternative is the shuttle taxi (see below for a rough timetable). To book a seat in advance call Karelia Expert at + 358-400 239 549. Single fare is 14€ /person.

By air 

The nearest airports are at Kuopio and Joensuu, which are served by daily flights from Helsinki. There is a Joensuu-Koli shuttle taxi daily, see below for details. To book a seat in advance call Karelia Expert +358-400 239 549. Single fare is 16€ /person.

The Koli Shuttle operates daily between Joensuu and Koli, door-to-door. It is advisable to book the previous day by phoning  +358-100 9986. The basic timetable, which can be tailored to customer requirements, is given below.
Fares one-way are 19€/adult, 13€/12-16 years old, 9 €/student, 9 €/4-11 years old, family ticket 45 €
Fares one way to-from the airport: 22 €/adult, 15 €/12-16 years old, 11 €/student, 11 €/4-11 years old, family ticket 50 €
