Ice road between Koli-Vuonislahti

- The ice road is maintained by the Finnish Road Administration and opens once the ice is sufficiently thick. The road may be occasionally closed due to e.g. snowstorms, cracks in the ice, or flooding.
- The ice road begins from the Loma-Koli camping ground and ends in the Vuonislahti harbour and is approximately 7km long. The speed limit is 50km/h, the maximum vehicle weight permitted is 3 tonnes, and the vehicles must have a distance of at least 50 meters between them. Overtaking and stopping on the road are forbidden.
Snowmobile network
North Karelia’s recreational network association maintains a snowmobile plough that runs from Höytiäinen through Kolinportti to the Koli village, and from there on to Pielinen through Purnulahti. A signposted trail continues from Purnulahti to Loma-Koli, Lieksa, and Kelvä. Additional information and snowmobile trail network maps are available at www.pohjoiskarjalankelkkaurat.fi
Koli’s ski track network
- over 50 km of managed ski track-grooves in Ukko-Koli and Loma-Koli.
- they can be skied on in traditional and free technique/gliding style.
- 22 km of illuminated ski tracks running from Loma-Koli to Kopravaara. The ski track after the first snowfall
- There is a 4 km ski track from the Louhinvaarantie parking lot to the shelter spot at Napakallio, there and back makes 8 km. There are signposts along Kolintie.
Koli Latupooli
- Tends to the development, marketing, and maintaining the network of ski tracks.
- The Latupooli has various members, including accommodation enterprises, tourism businesses, the city of Lieksa, and different organizations.
- The expenses for maintaining the ski track network are covered through the ‘pooli’ fee.
- Collects feedback from users in order to further develop the ski track network.
