Scenic lift
A scenic lift serves customers daily during the peak season in summer from June to August, giving excellent lake and forest views. The lift covers the 770-metre distance in around 8 minutes (one way). The total ascent is 212 metres. This is an easy way to admire the national landscape of Koli from above, and is great fun also for families with children. We recommend you to use the scenic lift when you want to reach the famous Koli peaks. There is plenty of parking place at Rantatie 27.
Summer 2025 schedule for the scenic lift:
- June 7-8, 2025: 10:00-14:00 and 14:30-17:30
- June 14 – August 10, 2025: 10:00-14:00 and 14:30-17:30
- On grill nights at Rinnetupa (Wednesdays and Fridays), the scenic lift also runs from 18:00 to 20:00.
Tickets can be purchased at the summer kiosk on Upper Koli, Rinnetupa, or the reception desks of Break Sokos Hotel Koli and Koli Village.

Trail lift is an experience too
From parking place (Ylä-Kolintie 31) to the upper yard, where the Koli Nature Center Ukko and Break Sokos Hotel Koli are located, also comes a trail lift. From the lift windows opens a spectacular forest scenery.
The free rail lift, which runs about 100 meters long, is open daily from 7 am to 10 pm. You can also walk up the stairs if there is no snow. Stairs are next to the trail lift.
Maintenance break of the Funicular, starting on August 12th, 2024.
During the maintenance, anon-stop transportation will be arranged from the parking area P1. You may drive to the upper yard only for 15-minute drop-offs and unloading of luggage or use of accessible parking spots with a handicap-permit. The estimated duration of the maintenance is 8 weeks.
Non-stop transportation schedule:
August 12 – September 1:
Daily from 11 AM to 6 PM
Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM
In addition to the announced non-stop transportation, the schedule may be subject to changes or individual days when transportation is available.
