Hyvärilä is located in Nurmes, on the shores of Lake Pielinen, surrounded by forests and water. The town centre is just a few kilometres away, and it takes about an hour to drive to us from Koli. Come just as you are, even if it’s only for a coffee and a walk by the lake.
At Hyvärilä, it’s easy to feel at home. Come here to stay active, enjoy good food and get a good night’s sleep – in our hotel, holiday apartments, hostel or campsite.
Many visitors also stop by just for the day, and that suits us perfectly. In winter, ski trails wind through the forest to the lakeshore, while in summer, you can cool off at the beach. After working up an appetite, our restaurant serves breakfast and lunch with options for both vegetarians and meat-eaters. You can also grill your own food at our campfire sites.
If the weather or your mood calls for indoor activities, the PielisAreena sports hall, gym and climbing room are available for you to enjoy. Outdoors, you’ll find a disc golf course, forest trails and lakeside scenery where you can simply stop and take a breath. For those heading out into nature, we rent bicycles, SUP boards, canoes, kayaks, snowshoes, Nordic backcountry skis and various sports equipment. For groups, we create camp programmes where doing things together comes naturally and the memories last a lifetime.
There is something happening at Hyvärilä all year round. Events such as Drive in & Rock, Villafestivaali, Rompepäivät, Kekrimarkkinat and Kekrijuhla, and the Christmas Market bring together local residents and visitors, and everyone is welcome to join in.
Hyvärilä has been operating since 1980, bringing together young people and groups from Finland and around the world. Sustainability is part of our everyday choices, and we are a Green Key certified destination. By using the services of the youth centre, you also support youth work.
